Captain CJ Schnier has spent more than twenty-five years making a living on the water: search and rescue, pushing oil barges, and delivering other people’s boats through heavy weather and idyllic seas. Along the way he picked up a lifetime of stories and a colorful cast of characters to go with them.

Those years are the raw material for his fiction. CJ is the author of The Paramour Logs, fast-moving and slightly satirical adventures following Chase Hawkins, a capable sailor who keeps finding himself in over his head. Many of the characters, and more than a few of their backstories, are based on real friends and acquaintances, proof that reality is often stranger than fiction. He has also ventured into nautical horror and has been known to dabble in other genres.

CJ lives and writes on the Central Gulf Coast of Florida. When he isn’t at the keyboard working on the next Paramour Logs novel, Total Loss, he’s usually on or near the water, camera in hand.
